A new Dupps system can maintain quality while saving millions in plant costs and operating expenses. The traditional process of extracting cocoa butter from cocoa beans is very costly. To offset these costs, a major chocolate producer called on Dupps to develop a way to reclaim additional cocoa butter from otherwise wasted cocoa bean scrap. The successful and profitable solution to this unique challenge was, however, just the beginning. Dupps continued working with leading names in the industry for over ten years to develop an entirely new type of cocoa bean processing system. This system not only saves millions of dollars in initial plant costs, but also produces sufficient quality products for many applications with lower operating expenses.
